High pitch noise from TMC351 boards.

Postby tuancoam » 16 Jul 2010, 00:05

Hello,

How can I stop or minimize the high pitch noise which came from TMC351 board when I plug in 24V?
Please advise.

Thanks for your help.

Normally, the module does not make any noise, as there are no electromechanical components on it. Can you localize the noise? Does it come from the switching regulator coil?

I think the high pitch noise came from the switching regulator coil. There are no electro-mechanical devices attach to TMC351 board.

Normally the noise of the switching regulator is load-dependent. It should not be audible under normal operating conditions. The on-board switching regulator of the TMCM-351 generates a voltage of +5V. Do you have anything connected to the external +5V connection of the board ? Does the noise change when you attach / detach the load ?

I am sorry for the wrong information. The high pitch noise can be heard when a stepper motor is connected to TMC351 board. Actually I can not hear it but my young co-worker can hear it from 20 feet away fom my cubicle.
Can you suggest some way to minimize this noise?

Thanks for your help.
