TMC428 Demo: Setting USRS?

TMC428 Demo: Setting USRS?

Postby ostermann » 16 Jan 2009, 18:24

Hello!

I just started playing with the command line tool TMC428demo, as it is more usefull to make a stall profile on a real machine (with limited axes ranges).

However, I don't see any option to change the microstep resolution. With the GUI based stall guard profiler I used the following parameters to get a profile in the range of 47.68Hz to 953.67 Hz (full step equivalent frequency):
1/8 microstep (USRS=3), PULSE_DIV=3, Vstart=25, Vend=500

But the TMC428demo allways starts with USRS=4. Is there a way to change it? And what about Amax and ramp_div? These parameters are not set explicit in the GUI version of the SG profiler.

With kind regards

Changing the USRS parameter in the command line version can only be done by changing it directly in the C source code (it is provided on the TechLib CD) and recompiling it. Please send me a PM if you sould not have the possibily to do it yourself, I will do it for you then.

The GUI version only changes the parameters that can be entered there. So you can use the Eval428 programme to set any other values to your needs first and afterwards start the StallProfiler GUI version. When I get the time I will extend the GUI version so that it also supports limited axis ranges.
