TMC429 Multiple Poorted RAM

I am using the TMC429 together with the TMC461 as shown on page 4 Figure-2 in the TMC429 DATASHEET.

Question
Does in this case the TMC429 need the RAM or can I ignore the initalisation of the RAM?

For motion control of the TMC261 via step/direction you can ignore the RAM configuration.
