TMC246 INA/INB control current for A/B phase

TMC246 INA/INB control current for A/B phase

Postby steven » 01 May 2012, 05:39

Hi,

In SPI mode, the INA and INB short, while providing a voltage of 2V together, the B-phase output is 1A(100% output), but the A-phase output is only 25mA.
Is the chip bad, or the chip is not used in correct way.

This sounds, like you have a problem with the sense resistor - it could have a too high value or is completely open.

hi,

the sense resistor of A-phase is same with the sense resistor of B-phase,so the current of A-phase is same with the current of B-phase.

but the fact is not so!

The attachment is a schematic.

Probably some part is damaged or not well soldered.

In this case, can I conclude that the chip is not well ?

I don't know - it will not be damaged without reason - normally a bad solder joint or a wrong part is the reason causing malfunction and / or subsequent damage.
