firmware-update failed - factory default not possible

firmware-update failed - factory default not possible

Postby uw2011 » 06 Dec 2011, 14:10

I recently purchase two PD1-140-42-SE-CANopen stepper motor with integrated controler. I wanted to install a newest firmware on the board. With the first motor everything worked fine. After I tried the second board no connection works afterwards. The red and green led is on permanentely. I tried to get it back to the factory default:
- TMCL-IDE-program -> EEPROM locked and communication error
- connecting pins 5 to Gnd, connection pin 3 TXD and pin 2 RXD together -> no change
- connection pad 2 and pad 3 on the bottom -> no change
Thank you for help!

Both LEDs on means that the module is still in bootloader mode (e.g. after a failed firmware update). This means that you can just try the update procedure again (but TMCL commands will not work at this stage).
Please send the module in for repair (via your distributor) if re-trying the firmware update procedure should not work.
