PD-110-42 Motors turning in oposite directions

Postby Simon Fischer » 18 Aug 2011, 12:15

Hi,

I have a quite old Pan Drive PD 110-42 runing smothly.
Now to duplicate the Hardware we ordered a new, identical drive.
While the old Drive for which i developed a Labview Application rotates as expected, the new one rotates the other way arround (left instead of right and vice versa).
I already checked the connection from Driver to Motor which is from left to right as follows.
old Drive: black green blue red
new drive: red blue green black

could this cause the behaviour described above?
What else could be the cause for such a behaviour?

Kind regards
Simon Fischer

Hi,

since quite some time already we get the motors with cable and attached connector pre-assembled from the motor assembly house. This way, wiring should be always the same whenever you purchase one of our mechatronic solutions (PANdrive). Also, we improved our tests quite some time ago in order to better track things like that.

In order to change direction of motor movement without modification of TMCL commands / program:
- exchange two wires of one motor coil
- in TMCL-IDE: Setup-> Configure a Module-> Drivers (TMCM-301/341) press GET-button, toggle flag "PoPH" and press SET-button afterwards. This way motor movement will be inverted

Hope this helps,

Göran

Hi Göran

thanks for your help
is this a OR or an AND solution? (do both steps have to be done or are they alternatives)
For the coil that has to be switched is the following procedure correct? Sorry im a bit coutious I dont want to destroy the Motor.
A1 -> A2
A2 -> A1
B1 -> B1
B2 -> B2

Regards
Simon

Your solution is correct - it is an "OR" solution ;-) - sorry for the inconsistency
