Operating TMC260 in SPI mode

Postby hedgep » 15 May 2012, 18:10

Hello,

I am writing software to operate the TMC260 in SPI mode. After I send the below SPI commands motor starts drawing current .
0x901B4
0xD0014
0xE0080

Now I write driver control register with current A and Current B respectively.
But motor doesn't rotate. Is there any sample code I can have to operate the motor in SPI mode?

Thanks,
Hedge

In order to rotate the motor, you must rotate the electrical field (vector). Just apply a sine and a cosine curve with the desired velocity and the motor will turn. Later on you can customize your waves for perfect adaptation to you motor.
I'm sorry, but I'm not aware of a sample code for pure SPI mode operation - the sample code in the TMC262 Eval uses step&dir mode operation.
