Current level problem with TMCM171

Current level problem with TMCM171

Postby bkb » 20 Oct 2011, 15:44

Hallo,
we have a problem with the axis parameter max current. We are useing sine mode commutation with an EBM Pabst ECI 63.60 motor. We set the current to 107 (for 21A). Current consumption is almost half the espected value and also the torque of the BLDC when the controller detects overcurrent. Do you have any idea to solve our problem?

Thanks a lot

Sorry for the late response - my colleague must have missed your post. Is it still actual?

Thank you for reply

We solved our Problem. For the TMCM171 the value has to be 254 and not 107, as for other modules, to reach the maximun current level of about 21 Amps.

Thank you and have a nice christmas time

Hello, thanks a lot for your feedback! However I wonder about this solution, as it is higher than it should be. When refering to the manual, you have set it to 40A, now (coil current, power supply current will always be less due to chopper operation of the driver) - but if it solves the problem ;-)
Have a nice christmas time, too!
