using TMCM160 with 250kBaud

Postby fritz194 » 20 Jul 2011, 14:58

Hi,

On speeding up our interface, I tried to configure the TMCM-160 for 250kBaud.
It didn´t respond on any other rate using TMCL-IDE - so I think it was configured properly.
(250kBaud not available on my PC).
Operated from my custom controllerboard configured for 250kBaud - it didn´t respond.
This hardware was operating with any other baudrate - signal and timing tolerances checked with scope.
I used firmware 1.08 - so I was able to do a factory reset ;-)))

Are there some restrictions with 250kBaud ?
Is it really supported / tested ?

rgds.

I think the problem is that the baud rate error is quite high at this baud rate (nearly 10%, the baud rate which is really achieved is 227272bps). But when using a microcontroller you might be able to set up the baud rate on your microcontroller in such a way that it matches this value better.
Did you also try 115200? The error here is only 1.3% (the value really achieved is 113636bps). This should work without problems with 115200 on the other side (e.g. with a PC).
