Steps TMC236

Steps TMC236

Dear All,

I´m working in an application using the motor AM1020 from the manufacturer ARSAPE. I would like to use the TMC236 but I have some questions about this device:

a) What is the Part Number to select a device with automotive temperature range?
b) I have to move the motor from 9 rpm to 3000 rpm, Does TMC236 cover this range?
c) How does the motor moves with respect to the SPI message?, I mean, one step/microstep per SPI command?
d) When activated Base current control via INA and INB in SPI mode, what is the minimum voltage admited by the device.

Thank you in advance for your answers,
Best Regards
Ser

Hello,
a) the temperature range always is automotive (-PA type)
b) You should read the FAQ manual contents on ChopSync especially for the high velocity movement
c) You set the field vectors via SPI. At high velocity, interim steps gradually become skipped, alternatively, you can switch to fullstep by skipping all microsteps from a few 100 RPM on.
d) You can start from 0V, but a voltage below 100mV is not recommended for operation, due to possible noise / offsets influencing microstep performance.
