USB-2-485 3Mbps

Postby hdsystems » 14 Dec 2011, 14:47

I want read a two wire rs485 communication between two devices with USB-2-485 converter?
The speed of the communication is 2,5 Mbit/s.

I habe already try it but it doesnt works.

In the device manager on the virtual com of USB-2-485 i can see only max baudrate of 921600.

What can I do?

I have removed the resistor R1, R2, and R3.

The interface chip used on the USB-2-485 (FT232RL) and also the Windows driver from FTDI support a maximum baud rate of 3MBit/s, but the standard configuration dialogue of Windows does not show such (non-standard) baud rates.
But when writing your own communication software, you can also pass such non-standard baud rates to the driver, and it will work. Simply set the baud rate (in the DCB.Baudrate field) to 2500000 (for 2.5MBit/s) when calling the SetupCommState() function.
