Answers

What does "fabless" mean?

TRINAMIC is a fables semiconductor company and serves the market with self developed integrated circuits for the control of small electrical motors in a wide variety of applications.
TRINAMIC’s integrated circuits are manufactured to the highest standards in the world’s most advanced manufacturing plants.

What size of motors (in terms of horsepower) does Trinamic support?

TRINAMIC offers fractional horsepower motors with a flange of 28 up to 86mm² (1.1in – 3.39in/ NEMA11 - NEMA34) and with a holding torque of 0.06 up to 12.8Nm (8.5oz-in – 1812.63oz-in).

What does "micro-stepping" mean?
Microstepping increases a stepper motor’s resolution and rotational smoothness by applying intermediate amounts of winding currents. “Sine cosine microstepping” in which the winding current approximates a sinusoidal AC waveform (ideal current waveform for driving stepper motors) is the most common form. TRINAMIC’s microstep drivers may split a full step in up to 256 microsteps.
